Where this is up to

Honestly? Not built yet.

The navigation courses came first, because that is where most people asked for help. Skiing is in the queue behind them, and how fast it moves depends largely on how many people put their name down here.

No date promised. When there is one, the people on this list hear first.

What it will cover

Wherever you are starting from.

I’m just starting out

  • Kit guides: skis, boots and layers that actually work
  • Your first turns, and how to stop with confidence
  • Edge control, the thing everything else is built on
  • Slope etiquette and staying safe among other people
  • Getting your body ready before you travel

I’ve skied before

  • Carving properly rather than skidding
  • Off-piste and variable snow
  • Moguls without wrecking your legs
  • Avalanche awareness basics
  • Planning a trip that suits your level

Questions?

Frequently asked questions

Can I learn to ski before I get to the mountain?

Not the balance, no, but you can learn most of the theory. Understanding what edge control is and what you are trying to do with your body means your first day is spent skiing rather than working out what the instructor meant.

How long does it take to learn to ski?

Most people can get down a beginner slope in three to five days. How far you get after that depends much more on understanding the technique than on raw hours.

What do I get with the video coaching?

You send clips of your skiing, they get looked at properly, and you get detailed feedback. You can have that as a written report or as a live call, whichever suits you.

In the meantime

What is ready

Navigation and mountain safety are fully built, and the skills carry over to almost anything you do outdoors. Start there while this one catches up.
